 2008 Staff Trainings for JC's, SC's and Senior Staff - Check them out!

Indicate what trainings you are interested in. Some are limited. I will post who is taking what on the staff page of the web site. Check that also for times and dates if you forget. Most of the trainings take place during pre-camp or the first week of camp. This is to allow more people to attend the trainings. The trainings are available to all JC’s, SC’s and Senior Staff. All JC’s will take the Low Ropes training but others interested may sign up. Please call me if you have any questions about the trainings.  

  1. June 8-9 – Pioneer hiking training with Liz Cohen. This will involve hiking the AT, training in leading a hiking pioneer and experiencing what campe rs should experience during a hiking pioneer.
  1. June 10-13 and June 16 (this day may not be necessary) – Lifeguard Training including Fi rs t Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. This is both for new people and those who have to recertify (those who took lifeguard training in 2005). If you took lifeguard training in 2006, you are still certified.
  1. June 11 – CPR for the Professional Rescuer, recertification. This is only for those who are currently lifeguards. There will be another Fi rs t Aid and CPR training later in the summer.
  1. June 17 – Defensive Driving Training. You must be at least 18 and have two yea rs driving experience.
  1. June 18 – Archery Training. This is for people who did not take it last year. We will set up a review time for those who took it last year.
  1. June 24, 9am-12, noon – Low Ropes Training. This is primarily for Junior Counselors .
  1. June 24, 1-5pm – High Ropes Training for those who have never been trained.
  1. June 25, all day – High Ropes Training continued.
  1. June 28 – SWR for those who have had SWR and canoe training in the past.
