What was the best thing about your time at Camp Onas?

"I like the choices they help make people independent, and the free time. That was nice because you had time to do things that you would not get to do other wise."

Junior Pioneer
The Junior Pioneer is for campers under 12 years old. A group of campers go on an afternoon canoe trip on the Delaware River, sleep over night at a local county campground, and hike to High Rocks in Ralph Stover State Park for rock climbing. This trip takes place takes place close to Onas and is led by Camp Onas counselors trained in canoeing and rock climbing.

Day Trips
A Dingle is the Onas word for a one day canoe trip on the Delaware River.  Going on a Dingle is a great way to practice your canoeing skills and get ready for a Pioneer trip someday!  Campers go on many other trips: Mercer  Museum, Peace Valley Nature Center, and the Ringing Rocks glacier field are some of them!

Theme Weekend
Theme weekends are the ultimate in Camp Onas fun!  Counselors in crazy costumes, team sports and games, cheers in the dining hall, great decorations, a dance and a movie all make the Theme Weekend a highlight of each session.

Challenge Activities
The High Ropes Challenge Course and Low Ropes Adventure Site are a huge amount of fun.  Campers are supported by specially trained staff during an exciting, team-building effort to conquer the elements. A climbing wall in the barn has three different levels of climbing to help you perfect your climbing skills and prepare you for a rock climbing trip to High Rocks at nearby Stover Park.

The Overnight
With your tent and another tent, you will take a wagon ride to the Overnight Site where you will make s’mores and sing songs around a campfire, take a night hike, and sleep on a platform in your sleeping bag under the stars. The Overnight Site is right here at Camp Onas but you will feel like you are deep in the wilderness.
